Description
The Triumvirate Church worships a triumvirate of deities and maintains an extensive network of temples, priests, and specialized warriors across Altazia. Originally established globally by the ancient Ikosian Empire, their immense historical power stemmed from a true, tangible connection with the gods — who frequently intervened in mortal affairs.
The Silence of the Gods
This divine connection was shattered during the Silence of the Gods, when all divine communication inexplicably ceased forever. No prayers were answered; no miracles performed. Stripped of divine validation, the Church fractured — losing nearly all its political power and reverting to centuries of brutal in-fighting and schisms. The failure of their healing arts during The Weeping further eroded their public goodwill.
The Monopoly on Soul Magic
Today, the Church holds a global monopoly over the legal practice of soul magic. Because soul magic is considered deeply unethical and the darkest of all magics, no one outside the Church is legally permitted to study or wield it. This gives the Church institutional power over:
