Your Memory attribute represents your capacity to retain and rapidly recall spell patterns across long spans of play.
Mechanical Uses
Mechanically, Memory controls:
- Memorized Spells: up to your Memory rating.
- Ready Patterns: contributes to
2 + highest of (Calculation, Memory)at scene start.
Memorized formulas cast faster in fiction, reduce Mana Track cost by 1 (minimum 1), and support quick defenses when fiction permits. For mental defense, see Resist Erosion.
Associated Magic Moves
- Deflect Magic: While Memory isn't rolled directly, its capacity for Memorized Spells is mechanically required to trigger quick-reaction defenses like this move.
