Soul Integrity
Soul Integrity is the durability of your character's spiritual core. Physical wounds may heal in time, but damage to the Soul is strictly permanent.
Soul Integrity Capacity: 6 + Memory + Calculation + Finesse + Willpower (Base 10, 10 boxes)
Eldritch attacks, failing horrific forbidden spells, or being struck by Soul Carving magics can deal Soul Damage. If all boxes of a character's Soul Integrity are checked, they suffer True Death: the soul is shattered permanently.
Marking a Box
Soul damage lands when the fiction earns it, never as routine attrition:
- Violating a Soul Cohesion law (see the Four Exploitation Laws).
- Catastrophic failures of forbidden spells (see Soul Magic).
- Eldritch attacks and Soul Carving strikes.
- Surviving a brush with True Death itself.
Repair
Soul damage is permanent: it never fades on its own. Within a life, recovery is slow, rare, and GM-paced: a sanctioned ritual, a specialist's care, or a story milestone worth an Study Points and Insights. It can never be bought with Study Points and Insights or healed by time alone.
