Technique Glyph Index
Canonical Glyph Index (Dataview)
| Technique Glyph | Role | Function | School Affinity | Typical 7-9 Risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
anchor | Fixed reference points — persistence, delayed triggers, and tethered effects. | 7-9: the anchor sets, but mobility and flexibility narrow. | ||
form | Active tethering — binding entities, effects, or command channels. | 7-9: the tether binds, but strain transfers both ways. | ||
anchor | Continuity and linkage — threading effects across a scene with selective targeting. | 7-9: the thread holds, but it overextends and drags in collateral detail. | ||
form | Transfer and conversion — throughput, continuity, and managed flow. | Alteration, Conjuration | 7-9: the flow continues but spills into adjacent channels. | |
anchor | Lattice structures — segmentation, routing, and distributed networks. | 7-9: the lattice deploys but leaves one exploitable gap. | ||
anchor | Resonance and echo — delayed replay, cadence chaining, and deep reads. | 7-9: resonance amplifies signal and unwanted feedback. | ||
form | Void and suppression — null pockets, dampening, subtractive zones. | Negation, Dimensionalism | 7-9: the hollow forms but destabilizes nearby structure. | |
form | Bounded domains and closed loops — containment, layered sequences, stable shaping. | 7-9: the circle closes, but containment bleeds at the edge. | ||
anchor | Rhythm and timed release — beats, scans, and staggered discharges. | 7-9: the pulse lands, but cadence slips and timing windows open. | ||
form | Concealment and filtering — masking signatures, traces, and intent. | 7-9: the veil forms but leaves detectable seams. | ||
form | Constructive shaping — assembly, durable architecture, and forging. | 7-9: the forge completes, but impurities lock into the result. | ||
form | State locks and closure — keyed, persistent, anti-tamper effects. | 7-9: the seal takes, but requires maintenance or exact keying. | ||
form | Inversion and redirection — reflecting or countering incoming patterns. | 7-9: the mirror returns force but distorts target selection. | ||
anchor | Delivers directed impulse — forcing momentum into targets, vectors, or transitions. | 7-9: the push lands hard but destabilizes your position. | ||
form | Boundary denial and interception — wards, triggers, and defensive readiness. | 7-9: the watch holds but demands a costly trigger condition. |
Glyph roles: Anchor glyphs deliver or hold the spell; Form glyphs shape how it manifests. See Magic System.
Mastered Spells
A Mastered Spell is a declaration you have stabilized into a reliable formula — fill a pattern's 4-segment Spell Clock by casting it successfully, or research it via Research Matrix.
- Mastered spells cast as if always ready: no non-ready pressure, -1 Mana Track tick (minimum 1), silent, and usable as combat reactions when the fiction allows (e.g. Deflect Magic).
- Their 7-9 complications come from their written risk signature.
- You can hold a number of Mastered spells in active recall equal to your Memory. Swapping spells in or out of active recall requires a safe, calm moment (library, quiet camp, study session).
Glyph Stacks
You may combine technique glyphs in a single declaration: Intent -> School -> [Glyph + Glyph] -> Scale -> Tags. Each glyph beyond the first costs +1 Mana Track tick; stacking beyond your Calculation pushes the matrix. See Magic System.
