Ready Glyphs

Ready Glyphs are your scene-preloaded glyph architectures for stable casting under pressure.

Core Rule

  • At scene start, mark:
  • Ready Glyphs = 2 + highest of (Calculation, Memory)
  • You may still shape known glyphs outside your ready set.
  • In tense scenes, shaping a known but non-ready glyph adds one extra mixed-result pressure.
  • Mastered spells are always ready: they never suffer non-ready pressure and cost -1 tick (minimum 1). You hold a number of Mastered spells in active recall equal to your Memory; the rest of your Grimoire needs a safe, calm moment to swap in.

Practical Meaning

  • Glyphs are your vocabulary for improvisation; Mastered spells are saved sentences. Ready Glyphs prep the words you might need this scene; active recall holds the spells you chose to keep.
  • Ready Glyphs are what you have mentally staged for immediate, reliable execution.
  • They do not replace your Grimoire; they are the subset you can reach under pressure.
  • Mastered Spells in active recall (up to your Memory) are always ready and never take non-ready pressure.
