Fluss

Shapes flow — currents of mana, air, liquid, crowd, or conversation into directed streams.

How it works

Fluss is conduit-as-form. It does not create substance so much as organize motion: pour, bleed, draft, gossip. In stacks it turns raw Stoss or Puls into a guided channel — the difference between a splash and a hose. Fictionally Fluss wants a gradient: high to low, loud to quiet, crowded to empty.

Combines well with: Stoss (drive into the current), Kreis (contain the eddy), Gitter (route the flow).

Function in Compositions

Form glyph. Use it when the fiction needs this verb at the center of the declaration, then dress it with school and scale.

Typical 7-9 Risk Signature

7-9: the current goes where you aim, but spill, undertow, or someone else rides the stream.

School Affinity Notes

Frequent in Projection and Alteration work, but any school may borrow it when the fiction fits.

Usage Examples

  • You Fluss spilled liquid mana into a gutter glyph before it scars the floor.
  • Herd the spill into the drain -> Alteration -> Fluss -> Soft -> cleanup, hazard
  • In a duel you Fluss your opponent's firebolt aside into the sand barrel.
  • Bend the bolt into the barrel -> Projection -> Fluss -> Hard -> deflect, duel
  • You shape a Fluss of cold air under a locked door to carry a whispered warning.
  • Carry the whisper under the door -> Illusionism -> Fluss -> Soft -> message, stealth
  • During a flood in the cellars you Fluss water toward the sump pumps.
  • Drive water to the pumps -> Alteration -> Fluss -> Standard -> disaster, salvage
  • You Fluss a rumor through the dining hall so it reaches the right table before supper ends.
  • Steer the gossip downstream -> Mind Magic -> Fluss -> Soft -> intrigue, social
