Siegel

Seals and authenticates — locks, stamps, forbids opening, marks true ownership.

How it works

Siegel is the stamp and the lock. It declares that a boundary may not change without the right token — word, blood, key, rank. In stacks it finishes Kreis, authenticates Anker, and makes Band into a padlock instead of a rope. Fictionally Siegel loves bureaucracy and oaths; forge a Siegel and you inherit its enemies.

Combines well with: Kreis (seal the rim), Anker (seal to a site), Schmiede (harden the stamp).

Function in Compositions

Form glyph. Use it when the fiction needs this verb at the center of the declaration, then dress it with school and scale.

Typical 7-9 Risk Signature

7-9: the seal holds, but the key is compromised, the stamp is noticed, or opening later costs more.

School Affinity Notes

Frequent in Abjuration and Artifice work, but any school may borrow it when the fiction fits.

Usage Examples

  • You Siegel a letter so tampering leaves a glowing crack.
  • Detect tamper on the letter -> Abjuration -> Siegel -> Soft -> mail, security
  • In the lab you Siegel a volatile flask until the professor countersigns.
  • Lock the flask pending approval -> Artifice -> Siegel -> Soft -> lab, protocol
  • You Siegel a wound against further curses while Medical Magic works.
  • Seal out further curses -> Abjuration -> Siegel -> Hard -> medical, protect
  • During a heist you fake-Siegel a door with a convincing stamp — it fools the eye, not a true key.
  • Forge a convincing seal -> Illusionism -> Siegel -> Hard -> infiltrate, bluff
  • You Siegel your own mouth against compelled speech for the length of an interrogation.
  • Seal my tongue against compulsion -> Mind Defense -> Siegel -> Hard -> resist, interrogation
