Description
Xlotic is the northern part of the continent Miasina and the birthplace of the Ikosian Empire, founded approximately 1,500 years before the Cataclysm. It remained part of the Empire for the entirety of its existence. In the present day, various successor states have taken its place.
While a smattering of common Ikosian is still spoken (in unfamiliar dialects), inhabitants tend to use their own historical languages.
Key Features
- Well-connected to the rest of the world via teleport networks.
- Has many prestigious mage academies.
- Due to the desert, Xlotic nations see more potential in airships than Altazian nations.
- Kontemar — A larger coastal state and origin of the Iljatir family (known for blue tattoo-like markings on their cheeks and foreheads).
The Xlotic Desert
The deep desert has no major human settlements

, but it contains:
- Ziggurat of the Sun — A sulrothum-occupied complex built on former Ikosian temple ruins, deep in the desert interior. This is where the Imperial Ring is held by the high priest of a wasp-like tool-using species (the sulrothum).
- A seasonal river and a large underground lake beneath the ziggurat complex.
- A massive, terrifying apex predator Sandworm that swims through the dunes, notably immune to mind magic.

Environmental Hazards
Without constant high-tier Ward Class protection and cooling spells (Alteration Class), mages will succumb to the lethal temperatures.
