Ikosian Empire

The Ikosian Empire was the dominant human superpower that unified much of the known world before its eventual collapse.

Peak and Conquest

Founded by Shutur-Tanara on the continent of Miasina, the empire was a magocratic state that established the House system and the state-wide Mage Guild. It colonized much of Altazia, conquering the native populations and imposing its language and culture.

The Cataclysm and Decline

The empire was shattered by the Cataclysm, a rapid desertification of its heartland in Xlotic (Miasina). This triggered a "Great Migration" and a period of stagnation and decline, eventually leading to the Splinter Wars.

Legacy

The modern nations of Altazia, including Eldemar, Sulamnon, and Falkrinea, are all cultural successors of the Ikosian Empire. Their laws, traditions of magic, and social structures remain deeply rooted in Ikosian precedents.
