Description

Cyoria is a massive magical metropolis in Eldemar, built over a deep chasm known as "The Hole." It is one of the most developed and largest cities in the world. Despite being close to monster-infested wilderness and lacking a favorable trade location, it rose to prominence thanks to the Hole — a massive circular chasm on the west side of the city that is both the most obvious Dungeon entrance ever and the only known Rank 9 mana well.

Dungeon

The enormous quantities of mana gushing from the underworld make Cyoria an irresistible magnet for mages. Their presence has given the city a unique culture and architecture, with magically-aided constructions that would be impractical anywhere else. Due to the proximity of the bound primordial Panaxeth, the city experiences periodic mana surges, making it a highly significant site for mana-intensive research.

The Royal Academy of Magical Arts

Cyoria serves as the kingdom's intellectual heart. The Academy is an elite institution for the third and fourth years of a mage's education, offering a rigorous four-year program with tiered classes. It houses ~600 elite students at any time.

Campaign Significance

• Primary setting for the entire campaign.
• The city is invaded at the end of every restart during the Summer Festival by forces from Ulquaan Ibasa and the Esoteric Order led by Quatach-Ichl. This triggers the Time Loop's reset.
• The Sovereign Gate — the mechanism controlling the time loop — is hidden deep within the Hole.
• Preventing or surviving the invasion is a central challenge of every loop iteration.
