Insight (formerly Empathy) is the ability to read people, detect lies, and sense hidden motives or emotions. It is the defensive counterpart to Deception and Charm. A character with high Insight can tell when a smile is forced, when a merchant is overcharging, or when an ally is secretly harboring dark intentions.
Common Uses
- Lie Detection: Sensing the subtle physical tells that indicate someone is lying.
- Reading the Room: Quickly assessing the mood and power dynamics of a social situation.
- Interrogation (Passive): Knowing exactly which psychological buttons to push to get someone to open up.
